What is a

people-centered approach?

A people-centered approach puts people at the center of decision making, policies, and practices. It’s based on the idea that all employees are equally valued, not only for their contributions to the organization, but as humans with diverse identities and lived experiences. Employers can embody a person-centered approach by developing and maintaining a culture that values, recognizes, and prioritizes its workforce. 

 

In practice, this approach can look like responsive benefit offerings, transparent pay policies, flexible work arrangements, and/or professional development opportunities. A person-centered approach can be tailored to any organization based on their unique short- and long-term goals and strategic plan.

About Me

Hello! My name is Veronica Connolly (she/her), founder of Humankind Resources. I’m passionate about HR, especially shaping company culture, supporting employees, and partnering with leadership in strategy and planning. With over 8 years of HR experience and two accredited HR certifications, I’m well prepared for any HR challenge that comes my way. Throughout my career, I’ve worked at small to mid-sized organizations in several industries including AEC, manufacturing, SAAS, and non-profit. 

 

My diverse professional experience, along with my various identities and lived experiences, have shaped my HR practice into what it is today – leading with compassion through effective communication and collaboration, and centering people, an organization’s most valuable asset, in all decision making. I'm greatly excited to utilize my adaptability, kindness, and professionalism with partnering organizations as I guide them through various HR initiatives.
